NIDO AMERICAS SOUTH SAVANNAH, INC., is a Chapter of NIDO Americas representing Nigerian professionals in Savannah, Georgia, and the South East United States.  Our primary purpose is the active mobilization of Nigerian Diaspora expertise and resources for Nigerian development. 

Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) was formed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2000. NIDO, is an umbrella organization devoted to uniting all Nigerian organizations to have one voice that impacts Nigeria positively by investing in her academically, financially, and strategically for the betterment and improvement of Nigeria. NIDO is a nonpartisan, non-religious, non-tribal, and nonprofit organization with a 501(c)(3) status headquartered in Washington, DC.

NIDO pushed for the creation of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), which is currently chaired by Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa.  NIDCOM, is a Federal government body that assists Nigerians in the Diaspora with activities in Nigeria, and acts as a liaison between members in  Diaspora and the Nigerian government.

Notable Accomplishments of NIDO

NIDO, through its past presidents acquired parcels of land in choice areas in Abuja, Nigeria, for its members in Diaspora to acquire and develop at minimal costs.

NIDO, has been doing medical mission trips to Nigeria.

NIDO ships  medical equipment worth millions of dollars to different States in Nigeria.

NIDO has been championing the Information Technology (IT) program where it is educating Nigerians in IT.

NIDO is collaborating with the Nigerian government to gather data of all Nigerians in Diaspora with an end goal of them having the right to vote outside Nigeria.

NIDO is also working on encouraging and supporting its members to showcase the numerous Nigerian cultures amongst others.
